Facebook + Florida = FAIL
DUMMIES of the DAY!
Let’s go to Monroe County, Florida where two women in their 20s saw that one of their Facebook friends had posted family vacation photos – which means NO ONE'S HOME!
So they break into the empty home.
While in the middle of their burglary spree, one of them jumps on Facebook and posts, “Enjoying the comforts of this brand new house” - and even includes a photo of the room she was in.
That post shows up on her vacationing friend’s newsfeed, who’s like HEY! THAT’S MY HOUSE!
She calls police, who show up at the house and ARREST the two pendejas!
My God, they did everything but TAG the friend in the photo! And YES, I know EVERYONE posts vacation photos, but by doing so, you ARE telling people "I'm not home. And that car parked in the driveway is just for show. Didn't you just see my beautiful sunset picture from Hawaii?"
SPOILER ALERT: If you ever see me post vacation photos, I'm doing it from my HOUSE. Why advertise there's no one home?
Of course, if you do a better job of approving Facebook friends, I supposed you don't have to worry. If you're approving friends who are SO STUPID they actually post photos of themselves trespassing inside your house, maybe you should take a minute or two to do a background check before clicking 'APPROVE.'
